DESCRIPTION: Tabletop vacuum tube AM radio from an unknown manufacturer in 1940s time frame in excellent plus working and physical condition. Looks like this radio was a contest prize of some sort. Includes the contest placard which is in excellent condition.

SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment.

CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory brown molded Bakelite. Very shiny and glossy. No cracks, chips, or major scratches. Not repainted, no over spray, no touch up. Broadcast frequency numbers are clear and readable.

KNOBS: Knobs are original, matching, and securely attached. Tuning dial works across the dial with no slipping or sticky spots.

LOGO: No missing logos.

DIAL LIGHT: No dial light. Not designed with one but can be added for an extra charge.

CLOCK: no clock

INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.

POWER CORD: The original power cord and plug are in pristine condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. Very unusual to find an original power cord is such good condition.

BACKING BOARD: No backing board. Antenna loop is internal.

FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: Bottom factory label is partially missing.

PROVENANCE: Was gently used, lovingly displayed, or stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to moisture, smoking, cooking grease, pets or thick carpet.
