Lavender Taupe Art Deco Vintage 1948 Telechron Model 8H67 Musalarm AM Clock Radio Works Great!

DESCRIPTION: Tabletop tube AM clock radio alarm manufactured by Telechron in 1948 time frame in excellent+ working condition. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment. Original factory painted Bakelite in taupe lavender color. One of the more intriguing colors of the era. Back when it seemed brown or ivory were the only colors allowed according radio law, Telechron offered this lavender-ish, taupe-ish gray-ish color. Could it be some folks were uneasy with a pink radio back then? This radio is over 70 years old! The knobs are in excellent condition. The clear glass dial face is clear no cracks no yellowing. No dial light. Not designed with one. Gorgeous original metal clock surround shows normal age and patina and beautiful Art Deco numerals. No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on clock dial lettering. The tuning dial works fine and smooth no slipping. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The clock motor is quiet. The clock works and keep accurate time. The alarm works. The buzzer works. The clock and alarm set function work. The sleep timer works. The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations unless you operate radio near modern megahertz devices. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. The power cord and plug is in excellent working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
