Diamond Blue 1963 Zenith Model 7K06 AM FM Vacuum Tube Radio Excellent Condition Sounds Terrific!
DESCRIPTION: Table top blue plastic vacuum tube radio manufactured by Zenith in 1963 in excellent working and physical condition.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM and FM stations clearly and loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment. FM dipole antenna will be included for even better reception.
CABINET CONDITION: Glossy factory original cabinet molded in light blue back and white front plastic. No cracks, chips, or major scratches anywhere! Factory original speaker grill cloth is in excellent condition with no rips, runs, or looseness, or separated edges. There are minor rust spots from the metallic threads of the grill cloth. Tuning panel is securely attached, no cracks no chips. Not popping up. The tuning facade has very little oxidized or flaked off chrome paint which is often the case. There is sun damage to the back top right corner slightly yellowed.
KNOBS: Original matching knobs are in excellent condition and securely attached. No broken attach posts. Original chrome paint is faded or rubbed off in areas due to normal use.
LOGO: No missing logo.
DIAL LIGHT: No dial light not designed with one. But can be added for an extra charge.
SPEAKER: Original speaker, can get very loud.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents. The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
POWER CORD: The power cord and plug are in excellent condition with no breaks, not dried, not brittle. No exposed wiring.
FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: Bottom factory label is not completely missing, partially intact and original.
BACKING BOARD: Original factory back cover no cracks, no chips or no major scratches. Securely mounted.
PROVENANCE: Previous owner identity is not known. Has been in our reserve inventories for a long time. Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to cigarette smoking, moisture, cooking grease, pets or carpet.
