Beige Ivory Vintage 1965 General Electric Model C-403D AM Vacuum Tube Alarm Clock Radio Sounds Great!
DESCRIPTION: Tabletop vacuum tube AM alarm clock radio manufactured by General Electric in 1965 in excellent working and physical condition.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly around the dial.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is in excellent condition. Original factory molded beige ivory color plastic. All original factory molded colors through and through. Not repainted. No over spray. Not touched up. No cracks, chips, or major scratches or missing pieces. Clear clock cover is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips, securely attached. Clock and radio function lettering is not rubbed off at all. No rust, oxidation, fading, or stains on clock back panel. The front says solid state but this is a vacuum tube based radio.
KNOBS: All original factory matching knobs are in excellent condition. Volume on/off switch works. The tuning dial is in excellent condition no cracks, no slipping, no sticky spots.
DIAL LIGHT: None. Not designed with one but can be added for an extra charge.
CLOCK Clock works and keeps accurate time. Clock motor is silent no humming no buzzing no ticking noises. Alarm and clock set function works and goes off at the correct set times. Buzzer alarm works. Wake to radio and radio with buzzer. Sleep timer works. Silver metal decorative clock back panel is in excellent condition with no rust, dents or dings no rust no rub off no oxidation trails. Snooze button works as designed.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. Both intermediate frequency transformers (IFTs) have been rebuilt to ensure static-free reception in the future. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
BACKING BOARD: Original factory backing board is in excellent condition but water stained. All original factory printing info and labels are intact and readable.
POWER CORD: The new replacement power cord and safety polarized plug is in excellent original working condition with no cracks, or splits.
FACTORY LABELS: No missing factory labels. Back factory label is faded.
PROVENANCE: Previous owner identity is not known. Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to cigarette smoking, moisture, or pets.
