Cardinal Red 1955 Emerson Model 824 Vacuum Tube Radio Sounds Great Excellent Condition!

DESCRIPTION: Vintage tabletop vacuum tube AM radio manufactured by Emerson in 1955 time frame in excellent working and physical condition. Original molded red colors are rare.

CABINET CONDITION: Original factory molded red urea plastic cabinet is in excellent condition with no cracks, no chips, no major scratches. All original factory molded colors through and through. Not repainted. No over spray no touch up. Original factory metal stand. Brand new replacement protective tips.

SOUND QUALITY: This radio picks up AM stations real clearly and very loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment. 

DIAL LIGHT: No dial light. Not designed with one but can be added for an extra charge.

KNOBS: The volume and tuning knobs are original matching red color plastic. Tuning knob works with no slipping, sticky, or stuck spots. The radio station numbering is worn off the knob. The original pink orange pointer indicator is intact securely attached. The tuning knob is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips or broken attachment post and securely attached. The one red clock function knob is matching and securely attached.

INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: The capacitors been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations unless you operate near modern megahertz devices. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications.

POWER CORD: Original power cord is in excellent working condition with no breaks, splits, or exposed wiring. 

BACKING BOARD: Original backing board is intact in excellent condition. 

FACTORY LABELS: Bottom factory labels is missing

PROVENANCE: Previous owner identity is not known. Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to cigarette smoking, moisture, or pets.
