Sweet Bitter Green 1956 Arvin Model 951T1 Vacuum Tube Radio Sounds Great! Unique Model and Rare Color!

DESCRIPTION:  This antique tabletop tube AM radio manufactured by Arvin in 1956 time frame is in excellent working condition.

CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory molded Bakelite that has been factory painted chartreuse green, called 'Bitter Green." No cracks, chips or major scratches. There are small paints dings throughout but not bad. I've seen worse. All original factory painted color. Not repainted no touch not over sprayed. Very rare chartreuse green color.

SOUND QUALITY: Picks up tons of AM stations clearly and loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment.

LOGOS: Arvin factory gold painted raised letters mostly rubbed off.

KNOBS: Ivory knobs are original, matching and securely attached and yellowed. The tuning dial is a little hard to grip due to its shape but works perfectly as designed.

DIAL LIGHT: No dial light. Not designed with one.

POWER CORD: The brand new replacement power cord and plug are in excellent condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.

INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents. The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. Both Intermediate Frequency Transformers (IFTs) have been rebuilt to ensure static-free performance. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection.

CLOCK: No clock

BACKING BOARD: Factory original backing board is intact securely attached. Little model sticker is original and readable.

POWER CORD: Brand new replacement power cord and plug are in excellent working condition. No breaks, no splits, no repair with electrical tape, or other. No exposed wiring.

FACTORY LABELS: No missing bottom factory labels.

PROVENANCE: Previous owner identity is not known. Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to cigarette smoking, moisture, or pets. Was probably used in or near the kitchen for much of its life.

COLOR: chartreuse green

DIMENSIONS: Approximately 8" x 6" x 7" (l x w x h)
