Espresso Brown Owl Eyes 1951 Zenith Model G516 AM Vacuum Tube Radio Great Looking and Sounding!
DESCRIPTION: The much sought after Owl Eyes among Zenith designs! Tabletop tube AM radio manufactured by Zenith in 1951 in excellent working and physical condition.
CABINET CONDITION: Beautiful Bakelite factory molded cabinet is in excellent condition with no cracks, no chips, no major scratches! Original factory brown Bakelite color not repainted no touch up and no over spray. This radio is over 60 years old! The front gold metal fascia tuning and clock surround trim is in excellent condition with very little tarnish no dents no dings. No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on dial lettering. The tuning dial works fine no slipping no sticky spots.
KNOBS: All three little brown matching clock knobs are present and securely attached. The volume knob is original. The tuning knob is original.
POWER CALE: Replacement power cable and plug is in excellent working condition no breaks no exposed wires no brittleness.
CLOCK: Clock works and keep accurate time. Clock motor is silent no humming no buzzing no ticking noises. Alarm buzzer and radio alarm works goes off at correct set time. Sleep timer works.
DIAL LIGHT: No dial light. Not designed with one but can be added for an extra charge.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. The antique radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection.
BACKING BOARD: The original backing board is still present which is incredible because it's only held on by t-pins and screws.
FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: No missing bottom factory labels.
PROVENANCE: Previous owner identity is not known. Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to cigarette smoking, moisture, or pets.
