Shannon Green and White 1956 Emerson Model 883 Tube AM Radio Push Button Mania! Great Sounding!
DESCRIPTION: Beautiful kelly shamrock green and white color combo. Turquoise, aquamarines, and seafoams from various manufacturers are more prevalent than shamrock green from this period. This is a rare color combo! Tabletop tube AM clock radio alarm manufactured by Emerson in 1956 excellent+ working condition.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment. This radio blasts!
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is in very good condition. No heat cracks on top. The front white grill piece is in excellent condition no crack or chips. No stains, rust, or discoloration of the black clock face. There is a crack and chip on lower back right corner.
KNOBS: The knobs are in excellent condition and securely attached. Gold metal inserts are great condition. The tuning dial works fine and smooth no slipping. Factory matching original two clock function knobs in excellent condition and securely attached.
LOGO: No missing logo. Front aluminum panel is in excellent condition with no dents or dings.
DIAL LIGHT: "Sleep Saver" clock light and Sleep/Snooze button works and lights brightly. No tuning light not designed with one. But can be added for an extra charge.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
CLOCK: The clock works quietly and keeps accurate time. The alarm works. The buzzer works. The clock and alarm set function work. Sleep setting has sleep time setting display which more convenient than other designs. The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations unless you operate near modern megahertz devices. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications.
POWER CORD: The original power cord and plug are excellent original working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. Bottom factory label is 100% intact. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
BACKING BOARD: No backing board. Not designed with one. Original factory molded color matching green back cover.
PROVENANCE: Previous owner identity is not known. Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to cigarette smoking, moisture, or pets.
