DESCRIPTION: Popular and attractive GE General Electric radio model from the mid-sixties! This model series was one of the more popular and commonly found clock radios throughout the 60s and into the 70s!
SOUND QUALITY: Vacuum tube AM clock radio alarm manufactured by GE General Electric beginning in the late 50s. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory molded rose beige back and ivory front plastic. All original factory molded colors through and through. Not repainted. No over spray. Not touched up. No cracks, chips or major scratches or missing pieces. Front black paper clock back and tuning back are not oxidized, rusted, faded. No water stains..
KNOBS: Original matching volume and tuning knobs are securely attached no cracks, no broken attachment posts, no missing center metal inserts. Two original clock function knobs are in excellent condition, matching, securely attached.
LOGO: No missing logos.
DIAL LIGHT: No tuning dial light. Not designed with one. But can be added for an extra charge.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. Both Intermediate Frequency Transformers (IFTs) have been rebuilt to ensure static-free performance. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
BACKING BOARD: None. This radio has a factory-molded, rose beige color back cover.
POWER CORD: The original power cord and plug are in excellent condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
PROVENANCE: Previous owner identity is not known. Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to cigarette smoking, moisture, or pets. Was probably used in or near the kitchen for much of its life.
COLOR: Ivory front and rose beige back.
