DESCRIPTION: Tabletop tube AM clock radio alarm manufactured by Philco in 1955 time frame in excellent working and physical condition.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly around the dial with external antenna attachment.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is in excellent condition witrh no cracks, chips, or major scratches. No heat cracks on top. Original factory molded rose pink plastic through and through. Not repainted. No touch no over spray. Very rare color.
KNOBS: The knobs are in excellent condition and securely attached. The tuning dial works fine and smooth no slipping. Has broken attachement post that has been re-glued. Factory matching original four clock function knobs are in excellent condition and securely attached.
LOGO: No missing logo. Silver Transitone plate is in excellent condition. Sometimes these front plaques go missing.
DIAL LIGHT: No tuning or clock light not designed with one. But can be added for an extra charge.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. Both Intermediate Frequency Transformers (IFTs) have been rebuilt or replaced to ensure static free performance. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
CLOCK: The clock motor is an original Sessions Company movement. The clock motor has a counterweight that is audible like the sound of a rotating motor. It is not derad silent in operation. The alarm works. No buzzer. Wake to radio. The clock and alarm set functions work. Sleep timer works. Clock silver metal back panel is in excellent consition with no rust, no fading no flaking numbers no stains.
POWER CORD: The original power cord and plug are excellent original working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
FACTORY LABELS: Bottom factory label is intact and readable.
BACKING BOARD: Original backing board is in excellent condition.
PROVENANCE: Previous owner identity is not known. Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to cigarette smoking, moisture, or pets.
