Blood Orange and Black 1955 Zenith Model T-524V AM Vacuum Tube Radio Loud and Clear Sounding and Excellent Condition!
DESCRIPTION: Tabletop vacuum tube AM radio manufactured by Zenith in 1955 time frame in excellent working and physical condition.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations very clearly and very loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory molded Bakelite over sprayed top, sides, and front with original factory color blood orange paint. No paint dings or scratches. Original factory paint on bottom. There paint color match is near perfect. Usually, this model series is black top, sides and front with blood orange painted grill. This factory blood orange top, sides, and front with black grill is rarer. Actually, this was originally all red and black but faded to a blood orange color. The bottom still retains some red color. No chips, or major scratches or missing pieces. There is a repaired hairline crack on the bottom. Front black painted grill is in excellent condition with no paint chips, rub off or fading.
KNOBS: Original factory matching clear plastic tuning and volume knobs. No missing gold metal inserts. Factory original three clock function knobs. The clock on/off/auto clock post is a repaired shaft.
LOGO: No missing logos. Front center grill Zenith crown logo is in excellent condition.
DIAL LIGHT: No tuning or clock dial lights. Not designed with this one. But can be added for an extra charge.
CLOCK: Clock works and keeps accurate time. Alarm and clock set function works and goes off at the correct set times. Buzzer alarm works. Wake to radio and radio with buzzer. Sleep timer works. Front clock and tuning face surround gold metal trim are in excellent condition. Clear plastic clock cover has small hairline crack. Clock arms and numbering is in excellent readable condition. Has rare calendar feature which works. Calendar date and day of week adjust screw in back works.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents, so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. Both Intermediate Frequency Transformers (IFTs) have been rebuilt to ensure static-free performance. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
POWER CORD: The brand-new replacement power cord and safety polarized plug are in excellent condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
HEAT SHIELD: Heat shield has been fabricated and mounted underneath internally to reduce damage due to heat.
BACKING BOARD: backing board is in excellent condition. Usually these Zenith backing boards have fatigued or ripped pin attachment holes. All original t-pins .
FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: Bottom factory label is intact
