Umber Brown Bakelite 1951 Airline Model 15GCB-1583 Vacuum Tube AM Radio Excellent Condition! Sounds Great!
DESCRIPTION: Tabletop vacuum tube radio manufactured by Airline in 1951 time frame in excellent physical and working condition.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original molded brown Bakelite. Not repainted, not touched up, not over sprayed. There is a small hairline crack that has been repaired on the left back edge. The finish is factory original and shiny. Clear original tuning glass window is in excellent condition, not cracked, no chips, not yellowed with age. Tuning back panel is in excellent condition with no missing numbering, dots or dashes, or anything. No smudges or yellowing.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without an external antenna.
KNOBS: Original factory matching tuning and volume dials work fine. Securely attached.
DIAL LIGHT: Dial lights works and lights brightly
CLOCK: No clock
LOGOS: Logo on the dial face is crisp and clear.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All out of spec capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection.
POWER CORD: Original power cord is in excellent working condition with no cracks, or splits or electrical tape repair.
BACKING BOARD: Original backing board has been reinforced at the base.
FACTORY LABELS: No factory labels.
