DESCRIPTION: Tabletop tube radio manufactured by Philco in the 1946 timeframe still in very good cosmetic and working condition. No chips, splits, abrasions, or missing material anywhere on the cabinet! There is a hairline crack on the lower right side. No other cracks anywhere on the cabinet. Original factory paint is in excellent condition considering its age. Just minor dings here and there due to normal wear and tear but no major blemishes or accidents. All original knobs, dial pointer, etc are present, working, not missing. The original backing board is mounted to the Bluetooth MP3 newly fabricated console board. It seemed that this backing board had survived intact for close to 70 years so it didn't seem right to throw it out. The backing boards from these Philco 46, 47,48, 49-200s are missing 9 times out of 10. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without external antenna attachment. Excellent art deco design! Dial light works and lights up brightly. The knobs are matching ivory plastic securely attached. This radio is over 65 years old! All the dial numbering and lettering is crisp and clear. Clear dial plastic is translucent clear no cracks or hazing slightly warped. No missing numbering, dots or dashes, or anything. No smudges or yellowing. The tuning and volume dials work fine. The unit powers on and off with a definite click. The original bottom label is intact. All out of spec capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. The power cord and plug is in good working condition with no cracks, or splits or electrical tape repair. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment no pets. When this radio was new, Harry S Truman was president! This thing belongs in a museum!
