DESCRIPTION: Low and sleek tabletop vacuum tube AM clock radio alarm manufactured by Zenith in 1960 in excellent working and physical condition.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory molded sandalwood tan back and white front plastic. Not repainted. No cracks, chips, or major scratches or missing pieces. Beautiful low and sleek profile. Tuning and clock clear covers are original crystal clear no crack no scratches and securely mounted. Tuning and clock back panels are gray no water stains no rust. Usually this model has chipped front top or bottom corners but not this one!
KNOBS: Factory original matching tuning and and volume knobs are in great condition. No missing metal center gold inserts. Clock original matching knobs are clear plastic and securely attached.
LOGO: No missing Zenith logos. Zenith crown center crest is original. No missing or bent crown peaks.
DIAL LIGHT: No tuning or clock dial lights. Not designed with this one. But can be added for an extra charge.
CLOCK: Clock works and keep accurate time. Clock motor is silent no humming no buzzing no ticking noises. Clock and alarm set time works. Alarm works. Wake to radio and buzzer or wake to radio only. Both work. Sleep timer works. Top snooze button works. Snooze button surround trim is chromed with some rub off.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. Both Intermediate Frequency Transformer (IFTs) have been rebuilt to ensure static free performance. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
POWER CORD: The original brown power cord and plug are in excellent condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: No backing board. Not designed with one. Sandalwood tan back cover is original and securely attached.
FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: No missing bottom labels. Intact but yellowed not peeling water stained.
