DESCRIPTION: Tabletop tube AM clock alarm radio manufactured by General Electric in 1961 in excellent physical and working condition.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory molded in turquoise plastic back and white front. Some chips along the lower left side. There is a repaired chipped edge on the front top left side. No major scratches or missing pieces. This model usually is found with chips on the front protruding corners. The front clock and tuning clear cover is also clear and without cracks, chips or hazing, and securely attached. All front clock function lettering is in excellent condition.
KNOBS: Original volume and tuning knobs are immaculate. The tuning dial works fine no slipping no sticky spots. Gold metal center caps are shiny not oxidized. All push buttons work as designed and do not pop off. All push buttons return to correct height between operations. Sleep timer paddle works and advances sleep timer setting to 15, 30, 45, and 60 mins as designed But, does not return from 60 mins back to 0. In order to turn off sleep timer, you need to advance the clock 1 minute and sleep timer will turn off.

DIAL LIGHT: Tuning dial light works as designed and follows movement of the dial pointer. Golly geez!
CLOCK: Front white clock face is clean, no rust pitting, warping or water staining. Clock works and keeps accurate time. Clock motor is silent no humming no buzzing no ticking noises. Alarm and clock set function works and goes off at the correct set times. Buzzer alarm works. Wake to radio and radio with buzzer. Sleep timer works.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
POWER CORD: New brown power cord and plug are in excellent working condition. No breaks, no splits, no repair with electrical tape, or other. No exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: No backing board. Not designed with one. No melted, cracked or chipped heat vents in back.
FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: No missing labels. Bottom factory label is original, and mostly intact and readable.
PROVENANCE: Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to moisture, smoking, cooking grease, pets or carpet.
