Cotillion Pink 1957/58 Motorola Model 5T23P-1 AM Vacuum Tube Radio Rare Model!

DESCRIPTION: Tabletop vacuum tube AM radio manufactured by Motorola in 1957-58 time frame in excellent working condition.

SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations very clearly and very loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment. 

CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory molded pink plastic. All original factory molded colors through and through. Not repainted. No touch up. No over spray. There are two small hairline cracks on top by the back edge. Examples of this model series almost always have a crack on top by the back edge. There no chips, or major scratches or missing pieces. The tuning front fascia is in excellent condition with no water stains, no oxidation or discoloration. 

KNOBS:  Clear golden plastic tuning and and volume knobs. The tuning numbers are clear and readable no rub off.  No missing gold metal caps, that are smooth and shiny.

LOGO: No missing Motorola logo. "M" logo is original and not repainted.

DIAL LIGHT: None.

CLOCK: No clock

INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. Both Intermediate Frequency Transformer (IFTs) have been rebuilt to ensure static free performance. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.

POWER CORD: The brand new replacement power cord and plug are in excellent condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.

BACKING BOARD: Original factory backing board is in excellent condition and securely mounted. 

FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: Bottom labels are not missing, though a little worn and and stained.

PROVENANCE: Previous owner identity is not known. Was gently used then stored in a dry cool environment for a long period of time. No evidence of prolonged exposure to cigarette smoking, moisture, or pets. Was probably used in or near kitchen for much of its life.
