DESCRIPTION: Tabletop vacuum tube radio manufactured by Wards Airline in 1938 or 1939 time frame in excellent plus physical and excellent working condition. Truly amazing condition almost 85 years, still working just fine.

CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original artisan handcrafted wood cabinet. No cracks, seams or peeling veneer. Small repaired bveneer chip on left side back edge. The finish is factory original and shiny. Not refinished, repainted, not touched up, not over sprayed. Replacement grill cloth is in excellent condition no rips, no holes, no separated edges and no stains and securely attached. Front tuning glass window is original excellent condition with no cracks, no flaking numbers, and securely attached.

SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM and shortwave stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial with an external antenna aerial wire which is included and already attached.

KNOBS: Factory original and matching four (4) wood knobs are in excellent condition with no cracks. Factory stamped function lettering is still readable.

PUSHBUTTONS: Original 6 pre-set buttons work. 

TUNING MAGIC EYE: Works after warms up

DIAL LIGHT: dial light works and lights brightly. Replaced with modern LED for long life.

CLOCK: No clock

LOGOS: None missing. 

INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All out of spec capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents.  There is no loud or pervasive hum. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. 

POWER CORD: The new replacement power cord and plug are in excellent condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. 

BACKING BOARD: No backing board in the design.

FACTORY LABELS: Factory labels intact on the bottom.
